Gwyneth and Gwen

I just saw The Unquiet Dead (Doctor Who 01x03), and realized that the maid Gwyneth, who opened the raft in Cardiff, is actress Eve Myles, a.k.a Gwen Cooper from Torchwood. Is there by chance any plot-development in which Gwen would somehow be related to Gwyneth, or is it all just a bit of a coincidence? It seems far too neat to me, having the same ( Read more... )

No, they haven't met and there's so far no mention of the connection. Which really bugs me, I mean it's right there.

Then again these are the same people who for season Three of Doctor Who went "Let's cast this person who played a person who died in the end of season two, nobody'll notice! We'll say it was her cousin! Ahaha we are geniuses :D!"
Right.

(Then again also, they may be waiting for the person who wrote that episode to be free to write more for it.)

They are after us. *nods* They want to deceive.

Who is that actress in season three? (I've seen the season, so it won't be spoilers for me). I missed that.

When I think about it, a lot of actors seem the same, or similar, to me. That woman from season two, "The Satan Pit", reminds me a lot of the captain from Season three's "42", not sure they are the same actress though.

If you want to be cheap, I suppouse you could always claim something along the lines of "strong genes survive, that's why they are not only related, but identical!" for that situation you mentioned. =p

It's Freema....something with an A and a G and an R. *terrible memory*

It might be the BBC also...if you've ever seen the Casanova with David Tennant, you'll notice the captain in The Satan Pit is in that, as well as the mother in Fear Her.

TWINS SEPARATED AT BIRTH AND CLAIMED AS COUSINS
FOR SOME REASON THAT SURELY MAKES SENSE

Was it Freema Agyeman? Hehehe.
Ok, I'll look out for "old" actors doing new roles, then.

Might be that UK has a more limited amount of pretty/talented/famous actors than I'm used to seeing in series from America. That's the case in Sweden, anyway, we end up casting the same actors over and over again, then we complain about how Swedish TV-productions suck and end up watching American series... Um. Yeah. Pretty much.

Yeah, you're right, they haven't done anything about the Gwyneth-Gwen connection yet. Other connections, however (space pigs!) have been tied up.

...and hopefully I said that in a way that won't get me slammed for spoiling people for Torchwood season two.

Space Pigs? I'm intrigued!
Then again, as I was reminded in Torchwood 02x03, Gwen basically lives on a time-rift. Any day could become Gwyneth-day yet. ^_~

Space Pigs! From Doctor Who 01x04. Check out the scientist/doctor-type person. And it gets wrapped in late Torchwood.
