I've been thinking about the HBO show Carnivàle. Amazing show. I have to watch it again, sometime. The kind of things it did are in the same realm as what I'd like to do in fiction.

Only... Carnivàle failed. HBO cancelled the show after two seasons. Is there any hope for fiction that hits the same notes? I.e., urban fantasy strongly anchored to ( Read more... )

Oh and there I was planning a trip to Pennsylvania to see how you were! Oh well, and there are 8 John Schoffstalls.. but then I did a search for Sylvia Lims and there must be about 500 of us...

Lunar New Year is coming and I have ball-shaped pineapple tarts. The pineapple jam is chewy hard. If you didn't like them they'd make good ammo against the deer.

Hi! Yes, even with a peculiar name like mine, there are a bunch of us. And that's not even including all the scores of different spellings of the last name.

BTW, I've watched Natsume Yuujinchou, which you mentioned a while ago. I enjoyed it a lot. Didn't find it 'airy-fairy' at all. Some episodes were heartbreaking. Maybe I'll post a review of it eventually.
