Do you guys suspect any specific environmental influence in your case?
At that baby shower I threw a while back, I overheard a mom talking about how her daughter suddenly forgot how to talk and walk after a round of vaccinations. I said something, and she was all defensive! "She picked it back up again really quickly!", she said. OK!

my gut feeling is that with my child, there's a genetic predisposition which was triggered by vaccinations. there's definite characteristics that 11yo has that i see in other family members. also, 9yo has some similar traits, mostly around sensory issues, that are present but don't at all fall into the autistic range. 11yo had the full range of vaccines before he was two, starting at 2 weeks old. 9yo has only had DTP, but not until after his second birthday.

i read a quote somewhere recently that i forgot to save, but it said something to the effect of there being no such thing as a genetic epidemic. so going from rates of 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 150 in less than twenty years can't be explained by genetics, or even by new diagnostic methods.

Thanks, that worked.

S was delayed pretty much from birth, I have no idea whether vaccinations may have exasperated her delays, but I wouldn't rule it out. There is just no way to dismiss the stories of children who seemed perfectly normal before vaccines and then boom they lose all their skills in the matter of a couple days or weeks after. I can't even fathom what that would be like for a family.
