On a semi-related note, I'm stuck between two of the names you guys suggested. So this is the offiical run-off. Let me know what you think of these two:

OHMIGOD. i have a cat who we named lucy. lucy was the runt of the litter and is very hairy. one day, my dad took lucy to the groomer (yes, the cat is THAT hairy). he came back and said "lucy has a problem. lucy is a boy."

this came as quite the shock, obviouly. we were tempted to rename the cat lucifer, but as the cat basically looks like a twinkie with feet and a tail, we just coudn't do it. ended up naming him samson (because of the hair) instead.

another fun bit about sammy--he only has one eye. he lost the other in a fight with our new kitten. sadly, he does not have an eye patch.

my vote is for lucas--a) it was my suggestion and b) i had a HUGE crush on jonathan brandis as a child. mmmm.

I didn't even consider that Lando is black.

But between the others I also think cars shouldn't have real names but I don't really like Lucifer as an alternative.

But in a pinch if I'm forced I'd say Lucifer.

But seriously Lando has the benefits of being part of Star Wars week as well as conveying the ultimate in blackness. The only downside is you look like a racist, but honestly you're not friends with any black people that I know of. Who cares what they think?

Also thinking that you named it just because your car is black is a bit of a stretch and only hyper-sensitive black people would be offended and those guys are assholes anyway.
