I'm just mad about saffron/Meet me at The [cemetery] Gates.

So it's Valentine's Day tomorrow. As if you couldn't tell from the pile of empty conversation heart boxes that have been littering rockmarooned's journal. In honor of the occasion, I loaded myself up on candy and spent the weekend with the two things I love most in the whole, wide world: Jason Bateman and large-scale postmodern art installations. Don't congratulate Fox just yet. Did you see that promo at the end of tonight's Arrested that seemed to imply the show isn't going to be on next week, or the week after? The week after is the Oscars, so Fox is probably just showing reruns anyway, but I don't know what they'll show next week.

When it comes back on 3/6, it will two episodes back to back, so that's cool.

This new one was good, and didn't repeat too much (or if it did, it was subtle running gags, not repeating the storylines).

Also, didn't fox just cut back the episode order to 18 to make way for American Dad (which, according to a focus group I conducted consisting of Jason, Derrick, Sabrina and myself is not funny at all)?

I actually caught some of David Cross on the Jimmy Kimmel show, and he has assumed the show's getting shitcanned. Man was he pissed.

Also, where was Ron Howard for Sportsnight? I know that there were extenuating circumstances, but Sorkin's off the West Wing and it looks like Tina Fey beat him to the punch on the snl-themed sitcom.

Yeh, that's why we thought it was canceled in the first place, the shortened ep order and David Cross (who, to be fair, always seems pretty pissed). But Fox has a message on the AD site specifically saying, Arrested Development is not canceled, we love the show here at Fox, and we hope to have the Bluth family around for many seasons, blah blah blah, please tell people to watch the show. I can't tell if they're just hoping outrage quiets down so they can cancel it in May and hope no one notices, or if they really do want to renew it. Of course, the bottom line is, networks always act like they *can't* renew a show that doesn't get good ratings, no matter how much they want to, even though I highly doubt they're losing money on AD.

I so loved the dance sequence at the end of Hitch. Crying, I laughed so hard.

The orange stuff kind of reminds me of some kind of communist propaganda or something. Except that it's orange and not red.
