Much Movies

So I only have a few minutes to post before my sister comes back with California rolls for our newly created Sushi Sundays (how disappointed great-grandma Concetta would be if she found out it wasn't Spaghetti Sunday).  Here's just a quick rundown of the many, many things I saw this weekend.  I tried to go from worst to best.

The Grudge:  Sure, ( Read more... )

tv, degrassi rules, movies

I think it was Seth Meyers that played with Jude in the Caine/O'Toole sketch, not Armisen (maybe you're thinking of Armisen because the old-age makeup was not dissimilar to that drummer he played in the old Chris Katten nightclub comic sketch).

And Jude was in plenty of sketches, he was only missing from Hardball and the debate sketch, I think.

I haven't seen the Latifah episode but the Jude episode was definitely par, probably the best of the season so far. Not a great accomplishment three episodes in, but still.

Should Zooey Deschanel or Jenny Lewis be my backup girlfriend if you, say, died of cookie deprivation?

So in my zombie-watching journeys, I am now reminded of some incredibly good-looking (like seriously man-beautiful) actor who is in a movie where he's a total sadist and then dies gruesomely at the end. And that's all I've got, except for the vague feeling that he looks like a cross between Aidan Quinn and Tony Goldwyn in Ghost. It's driving me freaking crazy. I hate it when I suck at "who was that guy who was in the thing with the stuff?" I'm usually so good at that!

My sister and I used to work in the same video store, and we'd get questions like that all the time. It was seriously like in clerks, where people would ask to recommend a movie for an 8-year-old bed-wetter or ask "What's that movie with that guy?" Only my sister was seriously good at answering them, it was crazy. I swear, once someone said "What's that movie with that guy, that won an Oscar?" and she said "Dances with Wolves?" and was right. And it wasn't even the Dances with Wolves Oscar year. Another time, someone asked "What's that movie about the three princesses?" and she was like "Pricilla, Queen of the Desert?" and was right again. You just need to speak their language, I guess.

That being said, I don't know who the man-beautiful sadist is :(

Could you ask your sister? :)

She didn't know. Maybe if you could provide an example of how he was a sadist or more about his bloody death?

Jesse was telling me the other night that he thought it was Jay and I agreed, but then I noted that Sabrina thought it was Rick (as you think), so my questions to you is this:

Why do girls have such a problem with Rick?

Seriously, though, this begs to be broken down comic-nerd-Identity-Crisis style. When you think about it, everyone has a reason to shoot Emma, including (or perhaps, especially) her parents. I hear that Jesse's answering machine already has a couple of alternate suspects lined up.

Think about it.

Girls obviously have a problem with Rick because all girls can identify with Fatty. There's a plus-sized model in a coma inside all of us.

Everyone totally has a reason to shoot Emma, including the Degrassi audience. But the gunman was wearing a button-down shirt! That is so not Jay.
