This weekend was all about reverting to high school. I went to Playland, which I've already mentioned was the site of many fond high school memories. Most of those involve me freaking out on rides because I'm a huge wuss. This time, I went with raymecake and rockmarooned, and there was an awesome picture of the three of us on the Dragon Coaster. HA HA!! You said "we're all in this together." I think I'm going to see superbad tomorrow so I will let you know what I think of it. Also, did you watch any of the shows at Playland? They're my peeps.

While waiting on line at the Whip, I did see the Dreamgirls medly, which segued into, appropriately enough, songs from High School Musical. The little girls on line behind me got very excited.

I really liked Zac Efron in Hairspray, and his "Ladie's Choice" song was really good, but something about HSM sucks the life out of everyone who is in it. When we got the Rolling Stone with him on the cover, I thought, "Ew, is that Jesse McCartney?"

Yeah, they said in the article that it's painfully vanilla. He was definitely cute in Hairspray. I feel dirty being attracted to a 19-year-old, though.

At least he didn't come off as a huge d-bag in the article (though he didn't exactly come off as interesting or particularly talented, either). I liked that he said he didn't want to do an album right now because it wouldn't be any good. If he has talent, it's not being used in the HSM franchise.

You know how much of a sucker I am for musicals - and the HSM series is directed by Kenny Ortega of Newsies fame - but I couldn't even sit through the first one all the way through. I've tried on multiple occasions, but I end up fast forwarding to the most catchy songs because the plot is so lame(it was on my DVR). I'm sure there's an analogy to porn in there somewhere :)

That reminds me of Coupling. "Sometimes I forget and I fast-forward all the way through proper films!"
