if the stapler is out of staples. don't stand there, pressing down on the stapler for a few minutes before walking away!
take the 2 seconds to get over your social anxiety and ask me to replace the staples. how hard IS that?

i love how they all have/are working toward their PhD's, yet can't for the life of them operate a stapler.
