I was trying to think of something supportive to say, but Muka got there first! XD

Babe, I don't know your family - obviously - but I'm pretty sure that they would understand if you need to take time out to heal yourself. I know I'd rather have you feeling healthy and happy instead of trying to hold things together while you're breaking inside.

Take a little time out for yourself - you said it yourself it'll be worse for them if you don't.

As for scars - fuck those who don't understand. Such people aren't worth worrying about. They can fuck right off into the great big Fuck You bucket full of broken iPods and spunk.
If odd folk like you and me can appreciate such things then surely there are more of us out there. Don't give up hope. :)
