the second vision

[After some...troubling experiences on the Network this morning, Morgana has decided that the safest thing for her to do today is to hide in her room until midnight passes, and avoid the Network at all costs. Action spam for those who live with her/anyone who wants to stop by!]

[Arthur is outside her apartment, completely covered in blankets (even over his head) pounding on the door and trying to make his voice as low as possible.]

Morgana! Gwen! Open up!

[Morgana ignores the knocking for awhile, hoping that Gwen would get it. But Gwen doesn't, and very soon the pounding gets on Morgana's already frayed nerves.

Scowling, she hurries out of her bedroom and opens the front door.]

Are you lost? Because heaven's a long way from here.

[Arthur scowled under the covers. What on earth was that?]

What? Don't be ridiculous, I'm not lost, I know exactly where I am.

[Who is this strange, bundled mass of a woman, and why is she so rude? Morgana would like nothing more than to tell the woman off, but of course, the only thing that comes out is --]

Are you as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside?

[Knock, knock, knocking on her door.]

Morgana?

[That voice. So Mordred is still older. She had read that sometimes curses lasted more than one day, but... Morgana cringes. She can't face him right now, not cursed like this. He's still just a little boy, although now he has the appearance and memories of a man. It's just wrong.

She keeps silent, hoping that he will just leave but knowing that he won't. They have a bond.]

[Yeah, sorry, Morgana, you're not going to get what you want today. Mordred can tell that something's the matter, and the fact that she isn't answering the door when he knows she's in there doesn't help at all.

So he crosses his arms and leans against the wall beside the door, prepared to wait as long as he has to.]

Morgana, I'm not going anywhere.

[She can feel his determination. Were it Arthur, Merlin, or even Gwen, Morgana would have remained silent. Her will is more than a match for theirs. But Mordred...well, Mordred was special. There was no other way she could explain it.

Maybe if she just let him know she was cursed, he would leave her alone.]

What's a handsome swain like you doing in a dungeon like this?

[Gwen's not in right now- she's gone down to the market to pick up some ingredients for dinner tonight, despite Morgana's protests. Her cooking may not be nearly as good as what people frequently ate at the castle, but she could always get better.

She lets herself in the front door, laden down with shopping bags]

[Morgana heard Gwen come through the front door -- there was no mistaking her for anybody else -- and went out to help her bring in the groceries. She had done the shopping all on her own; it was only fair that Morgana at least help put them away.

She smiled at her friend, resolving to keep her mouth shut, but the curse would have no such thing.]

What's a nice maiden like you doing in a dungeon like this?

[Gwen allows this because she knows that there's no arguing otherwise when it came to Morgana. But she does notice that her lady seems to be unnaturally quiet]

Oh! That reminds me.

[She reaches into one of the bags and pulls out a bunch of assorted flowers, carefully wrapped in cellophane to keep them from being crushed]

I thought it might brighten the place up a little bit.

[Gwen doesn't understand that she's being hit on, because, hello. Medieval times.]

[Gwen's innocence is only one of the many things that make the girl near and dear to her heart. Morgana takes the flowers and admires them.]

They're beautiful. But compared to you, they are nothing more than ash in the hearth.

[Morgana goes to put them in water.]

[Having been all but ordered to leave Arthur alone- again -and with Will off in some unknown location, the task of preoccupying a certain warlock was left at the hands of another group of people from his world. One of whom he was only there to keep an eye on. Not that he would tell anyone else of the level of distrust he held for Mordred. Not for a long time, at least.

And so, here he was, knocking on that now familiar door. Oblivious to the curse, as per usual]

[That must be Gwen with the groceries. She would lock the door behind her and then not have a hand free to unlock it upon her return. Morgana hurried to the front door and opened it --

To Merlin.

Oh dear.]

Are you a wizard? I think my clothes are about to disappear.

[yes, really. There's nothing said in response for longer than he'd care to admit. And it has nothing to do with the 'wizard' part for once, and everything to do with the live that incorporated it. This...was a little too familiar]

Um-

[Morgana covered her face with her hand. This was it. She'd be better off dead now. Making passes at Arthur was one thing -- there was a certain amount of glee in making him ridiculously uncomfortable. But Merlin was too good to torment like that...and her passes at Arthur had never been that blatant. She wasn't sure if she should slam the door in his face and hide until this humiliation has passed or if she should let him in. After all, something important might have brought him here...before the curse had caused her to destroy his brain.]
