I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG TO READ THIS BUT UGH IT WAS JUST REALLY, REALLY FANTASTIC??? I'm so weak to romance and that opening scene with them just quietly doing the puzzle and ngh the inside of Jun's wallet and the talk of Paris completely hooked me into their world. I loved the atmosphere of this piece, with how gentle and grounded it feels overall which makes those tense, and somehow totally unassuming moments of heartbreak that much more poignant. That entire conversation about whether or not Nino should tell his mother about them was so well-executed and terribly heart-wrenching. I think the simplicity of this fic, and how you didn't try to take on too much, is what I like best.

I have to restrain myself somehow, give myself boundaries, because otherwise I end up with these huge, rambling stories (case in point: indiebandarashi) or just like... lots of words. I feel like this is something I do a lot - focus on one particular point - but I guess it's never been as physical as this. Keeping the whole fic inside the apartment, linking it to a piece of a puzzle, it was the perfect focal point to work around. I've been totally floored by the response to it, too!
