I made a comment about spaghetti westerns being my favorite to friend, they had never heard that term before which I was boggled over but they are kinda young so I told them that it was a reference to a certain style of western that was made mostly by Italian movie makers and directors in the 60s and 70s, "that's kind of racist don't you think" was ( Read more... )

Um... Sorry, missy, but you can't use the term PC to differentiate Windows boxes from Mac boxes. I mean, the Macintosh most certainly IS a personal computer. And what about linux boxes? If anything, Macintosh users would likely argue that their machines are MORE personal, while the others are IMpersonal.

So PC is officially, not PC, got it?

Oh YEAH, then why do I keep seeing the awful "Mac and PC guys" commercial, with the obviously stuffy guy being PC and the obviously young, hip, and metrosexual guy being "Mac".

EXPLAIN THAT TO ME, MISTER! OLE'!

Are you saying there's something wrong with being young, hip, and/or metro sexual? I take offense at one of those, though I'm not saying which one.

This makes me think...

The connection between Italy and pasta is obvious. Many other cultures have a pretty distinctive food or two. But what do you call American food? Hamburgers? Meatloaf? Hot dogs? *shudder*.

So if some guy made a lot of American Genre films, what term would we use to lump them all together? What's so American that it's obvious?

Oh and I have to say, if in spaghetti westerns the tough cowboy guys actually ate a ton of spaghetti all the time... THAT would be awesome!
