What is Clean Monday?

It's a movable holiday that is 40 days before Easter and it denotes the end of the carnival season and the start of Lent. Something like Ash Wednseday, if you will. In Greece traditionally on Clean Monday we fly kites... There's no school and all stores are closed and everyone is with family celebrating. If the weather is good, it's usually a very fun day.
