My life is kind of boring recently--insofar as it is watching things, teaching people mahjong, abusing photoshop and the like. And writing.  I think if I can get my "bible"/outline/dossiers/material for the story that's floating around in my head together before November, I may take up essandem's suggestion and start scripting as much as I can that month

Twelve Kingdoms isn't exactly action-packed, but it is GREAT with the complex and convoluted plot-type stuff, especially once you get into a bit and have more of the plot elements introduced.

The novels are stronger, plot-wise and character-wise. The anime had to adapt the novels to make a coherent story, and ended up portraying the various novels in a framework setting. That said? The anime is fairly faithful the the novels, excluding the existence of that girl and guy in the first part of the anime.
