If they weren't the only decent VW place on this side of town-- part 2!!!!

Oh, I forgot: On Monday, I went past the VW mechanic on the way to Uni in Ma's car. On Friday, I called and asked for a QUOTE on fixing the brakes...basically I wanted them to just identify what was wrong with them and estimate how to fix it. (And I expected a charge for the time taken to identify the problem, obviously...ain't no such thing as a ( Read more... )

I'm perfectly aware of how lovely Smother can be. Why do you think it pisses me off so much when she treats you like crap? That's the difference between your mother and mine. Yours has the potential to be a wonderful mother, whereas mine will never be better than what she is now. I know, she's tried but it's really rather pathetic and hollow when she does and it just feels like a whole lot of too little too late.

As for the mechanics, have you considered getting a car that isn't a VW? Yes I know you currently have no money but I think it's something worth considering.

Grr@the maternal units. *hug*

:O Not a VW? Are you mad? LOL
Hmm.. Mavwzdas were okay though...
And yes, I've considered it, however, as you so rightly note, the funds situation is dire and the savings for a home are more important currently. I'll just bitch and moan here instead. :P

In my fantasy world, I drive a Porsche that never needs fixing. Reality = VW that breaks occasionally. Close, huh?

Mazdas are exceptionally good quality cars, as long as they are looked after, regularly serviced and not thrashed. It sounds like your veedub is likely to become a bottomless money pit over the next year or so...

... the question you should probably ask yourself over the next 6 months is: "Newer car, or repair bills?".

Shush you. Quit being sensible. Besides, I can't afford a newer car anymore. I might get a bike...
