Poetry Friday: Winter Love by Linda Gregg

Dec 25, 2020 06:00

I would like to decorate this silence,
but my house grows only cleaner
and more plain. The glass chimes I hung
over the register ring a little
when the heat goes on.
I waited too long to drink my tea.
It was not hot. It was only warm.

Thank you for sharing Gregg's words.
"I waited too long to drink my tea.
It was not hot. It was only warm."
This happens to me more often than I'd like to admit. :)

It's a fine day for this poem when so many celebrate in silence. Happy Holidays! Wishing you peace even in that warm cup of tea!

Decorating the silence sounds lovely, but so does a house that "grows only cleaner/and more plain."

Guess I better just be thankful for what I've got!
