My scariest ghost story actually happened to me. Once I babysat for this one family. The little boy was adorable. Then, after I put him to bed, he wandered back into the living room and started to ramble off something in a language I didn't understand. I swear I got goosebumps on top of goosebumps. I managed to get him back to bed when the TV, that I had off, turned on. Now I was totally freaking out. I barely managed to make it until the boy's mother came back. Come to find out, my mom said that the boy's mother was a member of some Native American group and displeased someone when she joined our church. Apparently someone 'cursed' her. Needless to say I never went back to that house!
The other scary book for me had to be The Stand by Stephen King. The rat scene in the prison? Omg, totally gruesome.
I personally have never had anything happen to me, but it isn't for lack of trying, believe me! I have tried to go on every ghost walk in any city I have visited-New Orleans, St. Augustine, Charleston, but nothing. Anyhoo, I have always loved being scared. That adrenaline rush you get from it is crazy fun! I read a book a few years ago about a true haunting in NY, and it was written by a female nurse. I cannot for the life of me remember the name, and the book is in storage, where I have moved since then. I can honestly say that book totally freaked me out. I read it late into the night, and it gave me the heebie jeebies!
