Booklist: Filmmakers in Fiction

When I read books featuring visual artists, I want to see their art. Similarly, when protagonists are filmmakers, I'd love to see their films. Here are a few examples:

Notes from the Teenage Underground by Simmone Howell - This story of a teen filmmaker inspired a real-life filmmaking contest. For teens and adults.

Another YA novel based on film making yareader June 6 2008, 00:00:07 UTC
Project 17 by Stolarz is another title with a focus on film making. In order to win a film contest a high school senior gathers an eclectic group of teens who spend the night at a deserted mental hospital before it's torn down so he can shoot their reactions.

IMHO Project 17 is just as OK read, but it fit with your theme. Light fare!
