About the job thing, I'm guessing it'd be hard for her to simply ask for a handout. Because of her upbringing she's not used to simply being given stuff. I could see her wanting to make her own way instead of having to ask her parents to support her. It'd be a pride thing.

But when I wrote an altverse fic, I did have her living in the guest house of the Tyler mansion. Like you I guessed that her mindset would be one of "this universe is temporary" and so she wouldn't bother with getting her own place if a suitable place was available. However, she might want to move out just to get some space from her mother. :D

I didn't remember that about Mickey and his Gran. That's really sweet. :)
