I was in an absolutely horrible mood, and nightfallrising, who is one of the sweetest people on the internets, surprised me with truly wonderful fanart for one of my Xel/Zel stories, Purple. (Or, I guesss it could be equally for the sequel, tsutsuji's Happy, which I recommend. *g*) The title of the picture is 'Blue,' which makes sense if you have read the fic ( Read more... )

Although, honestly, I wasn't really thinking about Happy at the time. I love tsutsuji's work, but that's not my favorite of them; it seemed to miss the point a little.

*squishes* I love her writing too...I know tsutsuji wasn't entirely satisfied with that piece either...it was really something to attempt without having an understanding of/fondness for a D/s dynamic.

Regardless, this picture is love. ♥

Actually, I didn't think the d/s dynamic felt wrong at all--it was the sadomasochist/sadomasochist dynamic that felt wonky. Which may *almost* be what I mean... I think it read better for me when I wasn't connecting it to Purple: when it's read as Purple's sequel the XZ interaction becomes strangely unequal ( ... )
