One of the first people I showed this to was all 'Whyyyyy are you making Amelia such an airhead? It's after TRY; she should be more mature than that!!" I decided that she had a point--but bumming around with Lina-san is her escape from being Phil's second, and a girl like her would get as much fun out of her vacation as she could. ^,^
As for our favorite grouch, well--he's a curmudgeon, and not a lot escapes him except for why he goes along with it. (g)
I'm not sure there *is* a language kids understand when it comes to 'keep out.' Xel says high voltage is a universal language, but, um, we don't listen to him.
Oh, I don't know... ...High voltage might have been a good idea if I wasn't so forgetful and likely to forget about the voltage myself. Not like those little pests can read, anyway, their parents don't believe in forcing children to learn to read and write unless they want to, and these only want to make messes.
"You mean you were wishing he were here to let himself take a beating while we all ran away," Zelgadis corrected. Pride was a vanished memory, traveling with these clowns, but he still believed in precision.
I was totally going to point out how much i loved that line, myself. Ah, Zelgadis. You are such a lovable grouch.
Hmm... I don't have much else to say about this chapter, in all honesty, other than that I still love it. And GOD I still love your characterizations--individual and group. For some reason slayers_etc is not showing up in my friends list, though, so I JUST found out that you updated. I shall have to remedy that, so as not to miss future installments. ^_- Yay!
Damn the details! Full speed ahead!nightfallrisingNovember 27 2005, 10:08:55 UTC
(grins) See, this is why I love Slayers. They don't just take life with a grain; they carry a whole damn salt-lick around.
...but didn't Gourry lose his Sword of Light at the end of TRY?
Yep! ^,^ But, hey, Xel got it back for him once when any sane person would have rightly assumed it irretrievable, right? Besides, in a couple of chapters the big fat AU on this piece will be so obvious that all the manga!canon fiends will be after my head anyway. Since I am a little sheepish about this particular variation (not the big one, the sword one), I'll offer up an explanation: interdimensional politics.
Politics explains just about everything. And the rest is hormones. (Or the whim of L-sama. But that's, you know, ineffable.) And if this is totally incoherant, it's because I have no business being awake. (beams)

I love how Zel knows exactly how the fights proceed and how the bandits will react to each person in their group.
Great job, can't wait for more!

I like the sign. I need a similar one for my room. In my little cousins' view and in a language they understand, but yeah.

Hope the exam goes well!

The sign with the toothbrush-added words. Zelgadis deadpanning a JOKE. "Let's be somewhere else" and then RUNNING LIKE HELL. Awesome. Totally awesome.
