Noted from Kotaku:

From the article:
LittleBigPlanet (November sales): 141,000 units (total through November - 346,000). VGChartz says around 520k total so far in NA (probably includes some December) and 1.11m worldwide, which is better and more on track with what would hopefully be expected. Not one of the strongest titles sales-wise for PS3, ( Read more... )

I'll grant that. Again, not expecting massive numbers of sales. Still, this level is pretty sad, and you and chase_the_bunny and plenty of others know this game is really good, and probably should attract more sales.

I bought LBP!! But... I haven't played must past the first few hours because of school. I have to say the jump button is a pain in the butt, and if you have no friends to play with it's on and off since there's no story that forces you to play for suspense XD; I kind of want to put it off more until I can finish all my RPGs =o

Haha, since Disgaea takes hours and hours maybe it's sucking away people's time to go out and buy LBP XD

Fortunately Valkyria Chronicles is getting an anime TV series, so that should help boost sales a bit when the fansubs start to circulate...

It'll probably help. Part of me wonders though if it's going to suffer a similar fate to Disgaea, where it's going to be bloody near impossible to find the game once people actually want to play the thing, where it took a real re-release to actually get the game to Greatest Hits status.

Of course, unlike that time, I actually have the game and system on the first release, and won't have to pay greater than retail price to get my hands on it. ^^;;

Valkyria Chronicles looks awesome. I've played the demo and love it. I've been waiting for a hybrid tactical-action game for years, and the fact that a lot of the FFTactics crew helped with Valkyria is an added bonus. It's on my Amazon Wish-List, which is really more my "stuff I'm going to buy after xmas is over" list.

LBP sounds like it has enough sales not to have to worry. Maybe not as much as the pre-release hype would lead you to expect, but it doesn't sound like it's in Critical condition. VC sounds like it could use some help. But I'm way too casual a gamer to get into a game of that type. Sounds time consuming.

Now, if you have recommendations for games that are really really good, and can be enjoyed by casual gamers (like an hour r two a week), I'm all ears.
