Writing problem

Feb 08, 2011 11:04

So, I'm doing the bdsm_fandom valentine's event. Out of my fandoms (and I had a reroll) there are only two that I write anymore and a 3rd I used to write but not so much into. It's easier for me to cross either of the two with the third (even though I'm not so into the third), but incredibly difficult to cross the two that I like ( Read more... )

I'm sure someone will, I suppose time travel is canon in Voyager and in the X-men...well, anything can happen really, can't it lol.

It'll all work out.

Hmrm. Normally I hate crossovers (universally), but occasionally one works. Voyager/XMen isn't the weirdest combo - with all of the various and sundry powers in the X-verse (not to mention that the X-men travelled all over the freaking galaxy at some point with the while Starjammers/Shi'ar thing). Also, you could go with one of the reality warpers (Proteus - Moira's son, or even a Scarlet Witch mishap). On the Voyager side, the ships could meet at one of the ever-present 'spatial anomalomies'. Voyager, alone and far from home, meets another human ship... albeit from another reality. Perhaps the X-men (maybe with Forge onboard) help Voyager out after they are damaged by the anomoly (and/or help upgrade - imagine Forge/B'lanna scenes!), or in the reverse, the X-men need help, and Voyager, being starved for other non-hostile races (or just other huamsn to talk with). If the anomoly is periodically recurring, it sets a convenient end to the encounter and a way home for wither party, and they're be little interest in one staying in the ( ... )

OMG! There actually IS a CANON Star Trek/X-men crossover (albeit TOS, not Voyager):

Oooh interest. I have no knowledge at all about that area of X-men canon (when they're zipping about the galaxy), so I'll have to investigate. Although, the one thing I'd come up with has merit: Voyager having time travelling canon and with all kinds of freaky anomalies it's possible they could be thrown back in time and into an AR. But add in a reality warper in X-verse, as you say, pretty much anything is possible ( ... )

Yeah, I loved the idea of Scott and Tom, or Scott and Tom subbing for Chakotay. For some reason, Remy didn't pop in to my head as a X-men possibility (too much movieverse thinking, I'd bet).

You could always do a short piece to get your feet wet, and then write a longer one if it end up striking your fancy. :D

that's why I never do stuff like that...because I'm so bad with crossing *laugh*

Oh but I love cross overs and really, I'm pretty much the princeling of the xover so much so it's hard for me to write fic in one universe lol. It's actually the deadline thing that usually holds me back, but since this whole challenge was partly inspired by some of my ramblings in Cazzy's direction, I think I really should take part. Plus, it's guaranteed to be fun :D

Anyone with Logan from what we see he is long lived. Or there is always the holideck; which I am very sure can mean anyone. I am trying to figure out how to cross Babylon 5 with either White Collar or Stargate: sg1. might just end up doing sg1/white collar. the other fandom I got I have no idea about.

Oh, I never thought of that angle, of the possibility of Logan still being around in the 24th century. hmm. D'oh, I forgot about the holodeck *facepalms*, and it's so funny because it's not long since I prompted it on the 3-sentence thing. SG1/WC could be a thing of awesome, hun. Daniel/Neal *drools*.

Heh

So far I have Peter/Jack, through I am very sure Neal/Daniel would be easier to write. I am also starting to think Neal pairs up very well with almost everyone. I saw a Neal/Bruce Wyane, it was kind of hot. It had Neal as Dick's brother though which was interesting. Just a little one off.

I think Logan would be a live then. Hell you said Torchwood? So would Jack. Okay my brain is going naughty places I should go try to focus that on my story!

Yeah, I acknowledged at the time that crossing either with Jack would be easy, but I don't really write Torchwood much anymore (at least not solo anyway for some reason).

Hmm, can't really see Peter/Jack, but Daniel/Neal would be very pretty. Neal doesn't quite go with everyone but he can with a little effort (not as easily as someone like Colby or Lorne does though...they're like the little black dresses of fandom...they go with anyone ;) ) lol.
