I was only in Cambodia for six weeks. It would have been a lot longer if a large chunk of money weren't siphoned out of my checking account. I was able to get the money back when I got back to the states, but if it had come back sooner I'm sure I would have been over there much longer. It was because of this that I kind of panicked and chickened out. But yes, Language Corps was totally legit and I would recommend it to anyone who thinks they might want to go overseas to teach English.
I think you are a very good writer. Too bad those guys took your fifty bucks and then tried to squeeze more out of you without following up with any substance. Do you still have a chance at writing those essays? You can do it! I know you can.
I've been reading a lot of books written by new "Indy" authors on Amazon.com. I'm not sure how they get published, but I know it's easier these days than it used to be. In fact, some are good and some are not-so-good (and obviously not edited very well). I've been thinking about trying to write a book (again), because I KNOW I can write better than some of those clowns.
Thank you for your complements Margaret. Yes, I do have a shot at writing the essays. I've applied with a few companies and they say it could take two to four weeks to know if I'm approved. So I 'm just waiting on that. Good luck on writing your book. Let me know if you finish it so I can read it.
