I'm finding French way more difficult than Spanish. I think it's all the silent letters and the back of the throat pronunciations. Spanish is spoken using the front of your mouth, but French uses more of the back of the throat. English, having so many similarities to both languages, kind of uses the whole mouth more. Thank you very much Margaret, that is a very nice complement. I don't know if it shows intelligence or not, but at least it does show that I'd rather learn a new language, or go dancing, or keep myself occupied in some other way other than vegging out in front of a television or computer screen. Learning new languages has become my new hobby. After French I want to learn German and Mandarin Chinese. I think before the invention of the tube everyone would have had to have found other ways to keep themselves occupied. Many would have picked up a musical instrument, others probably read books, which is still a better way to entertain one's self than watching TV. And I think some would have tried to learn new languages, if there were books, or people from other countries to talk to.

I think we'd all discover that we're way more intelligent than we think we are, if we were to just turn off some of our screens. It's amazing what you can learn when you're not sitting in front of the boob tube.
