Hello! Can't think of much, but these are my current top five:

Death Cab For Cutie
Postal Service - same singer as Death Cab, but maybe that's why I like them. X3
Pain - they also happen to be from Bama!
I've been in a Red Hot Chili Peppers mood lately.
The Beatles are always a good listen.
Just for fun, I love Simon and Garfunkle.
OK, none of them are really new music, but that's my input!
If you want some laughs, just listen to a few of Steven Lynch's songs - absolutely hilarious. XD

oh yeah, simon and garfunkle are great; one of the only hippie-sentiment bands i like... well... them and the beatles!

red hot chili peppers is great (at least the past few cds)... and hey! two of the bands on my list share a lead singer too! (jamie barrier of the wednesdays and haints).

i'll have to look in to the others; i've never heard them.

I doubt you'll like, since not many people are fond of noise, but:
- Godspeed You! Black Emperor
- Swans

On the more normal side/what's in my iPod lately
- Pixies
- Matthew Good
- Metric

Bands I like in the summer/who are in my regualr rotation right now:
Tilly and the Wall - sing along hipster music with a tapdancer for percussion!
ManMan- cabaret rock?
!!!(chk chk chk)- electroclash, 'cause white kids want to dance, too!
so many dynamos- dancepunk?

Music that based on my impressions of you list, I think you'd like and have probably already heard:
The black keys
Wolfmother
the hold steady
the eels

(We should totally do a mix cd exchange, eh? eh?)

Hi, I was just randomly browsing around and found this post, heheh XD; And since I did read this I figured I'd contribute, even though I'm a stranger.

Here are five of my favorites:
Arcade Fire (their new album is SO amazing)
Magnetic Fields
Explosions in the Sky (it's basically like indie rock music, but without vocals)
The Birthday Massacre (based on what you like I don't think you'd like them very much though XD)
Bloc Party (Silent Alarm is an awesome album, but I don't like their new one so much)

Indochine is also a good band, they're French and I've been listening to them a lot lately :D
