Yes! it was awesome!!! and UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! He played like nothin' happened, like he hadn't been away from the instrument for months....but he said he'd been doing a lot of practicing...he didn't want this jam to be some sloppy "feel-sorry-for-Dave" sorta thing...

It was quite the opposite! IT FREEKIN' ROCKED!!!!

The MAIN reason I logged today, was to see if I heard correctly (since you ARE the biggest Beatle fan I've ever known) I figured your blog would be on this subject...
I thought I heard on the news this a.m., that on this very day 42 YEARS ago, the Beatles first landed here in the USA.
...42 YEARS ago?!?!?
Could that possibly be true?

FEB.7 1964...you do the math!

The date I usually celebrate is FEB.9 (which also happens to be a favorite saxophone player of mine's birthday as well!)...that's the day I first saw The Beatles--me and a million other people--on Ed Sullivan!

Thanks, Anne Marie... I had a blast! And it was nothing sort of magical when I think "where" this guy was not six months ago!

They look just like us! Actually I think the librarian at the library we meet at would've liked us better without mouths :-)

WOW, sounds like an amazing evening! I'm so glad.

Thanks! It's funny how people's hairstyle can be such a "signature" ('course you went and changed yours!...:-))

Yeah, to quote the Beatle song "NIGHT BEFORE"
...Last was a night I will remember you by...When I think of things we did it makes me wanna cry!...

HA! Now you better just cut THAT kind of talk out!
You're gonna make MJ (and the rest of us "Hadleyspace Elements") jealous!!! ;D

OK....maybe quoting a song was a dumb idea....

I'm not talkin' about THOSE THINGS!!!!

Things like Surf tunes, SEVEN ANGRY CRITICS, garage band punk, 1968 British Blues ROCK, playing like John Paul Jones, FEW DROPS OF BLOOD...

THOSE THINGS!!!!
