Long Fics
Long Fics must be two (2) or more parts in length.
The Categories:
Best Angst/Drama Fic: Any fic that is emotionally wrenching or a piece where a character deals with an emotionally distressing situation at any point in the story. Most fics fall under this category.
Best Fluff or PWP Fic: Any fic that is angst-free. Fluff is typically a light, happy piece with no real message. A PWP (Porn Without Plot) generally consists of a sex, humour, or other genre scene with little or no plot.
Best BDSM Fic: Fics that have elements of bondage. Bondage/Discipline: Is a reference to the Master/Slave or Dom/Sub element present in certain aspects of sex play. Sadism/Masochism: Sex that involves actual pain and humiliation. It is always consensual. If it is non-consensual, it's just sadism. If a character is simply tied up or blindfolded it does not qualify as a BDSM Fic.
Best Crossover Fic: Fics that include non-LOTR characters (Eric Bana, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrel, Jason Isaacs, Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, Josh Hartnett, ect.) as part of a main pairing
Best AU Fic: AU Fics are fics set in an 'Alternate Universe.' All characters and settings must differ from 'canon.' A fic about the actors set in the future is not an AU simply because we don't know what may happen.
Best WIP: A Work In Progress. Must be a Fic that was begun in the year 2006, but as of December 31, 2006 was not yet finished.
