Roy Lee is more liquid, softer edged, less quick to jump, but a great presence to have in the group. Warm, fun-loving, sensual, he appreciates the power of the rocket for itself. The sheer lift and glide and grace of it turns his eyes dark and his lips red from where he licks them. He looks at me then, with that excitement in his eyes, and the pit of my stomach gets hot like the rocket's trail, too.
Your narrative voice is so loyal to the young boy whose eyes we see through. Such depth but simplistic in its ways, the way boys feel so much but don't know how to say it. Thank you for the link.

I know that this was already singled out but I needed to do so again because seriously that is a very beautiful character descriptive. Anyway, this was great and I'm glad I got a chance to read it.

I loved this movie so much when it came out. Then I saw the interviews with them as old men, talking about that time and each other, and . . . the fic just wrote itself.
