Science is not a debate and it cannot operate by consensus. Consensus is a social arrangement. Governments operate by consensus as they are a social structure. Science is an on-going investigation into our current reality and consensus is irrelevant. I do not care how many kooks, whackoids, and nutters agree, two plus two will never equal five. The consensus can be, and often is, dead wrong!

I went to a conference last week. It was on building's energy performance. Of course It did come to Global Climate Change (He said global warming), He did mention a consensus between scientist. I had a great urge to scream "science does not work with consensus" but I had to keep my calm. Anyway At least He said detailed works on carbon emission is waste of time.
