Found in this report are these wonderful words;

Lebanon's defence minister Elias Murr has said anyone violating the United Nations-brokered ceasefire will be considered a traitor [my emphasis] and be dealt with decisively.

One day a minister says something pragmatic, the next day, another minister says something pro-Hizballah. The coalition there is not the most stable thing in the world.

But the important thing is that one of them actually said it. To my recollection, that has never happened before. Of course, 53 year old grey cells sometimes recollect wrong. :(

But it is treason. You are collaborating with an obviously hostile foreign power in order to incite unwanted war.

That wasn't my quibble. It's the implied accusation of willful collaboration on Israel's part that I find bothersome. But, it is a minmal bother. I'm sure that Israel is not collaborating with Hizbollah, only reacting to their actions.

We're not obviously hostile to Lebanon. We're obviously hostile to the Hizballah, and anybody else who threatens us. As far as the government of Lebanon is concerned - especially now that it's not pro-Syrian - we'd love to have a peace agreement with them just as we did with the Egyptians and the Jordanians.
