I watched the premiere episode of the 'new' Electric Company Friday. I was NOT impressed whatsoever --;, but then again, I was spoiled by the old 'cool' version of the show I watched as a kid. The cast is/looks a LOT younger than the original and Square One TV's cast of regulars. By my guess, the cast looked as if they were in their 20s or ( Read more... )

That bad, huh? I haven't seen it, and not sure if I will. Depends on the schedule here.

Having watched some of what I think are the newer episodes of Seseme Street with the kido, I found that they had odd, almost phychodelic moments in them.

I mostly just stick with Sprout for the little one, occasionaly watch some Noggin. She's not 15 months yet though, so it's more just eye candy for her.

There's no rap in the new Electric Company...it's all beatboxing. That's the musical extent of the whole show, beatboxing and more beatboxing. Rap would be an improvement. It's like taking classical music and having only the trumpets play it.

They had a whole marathon on the other day, we gave it a three episode chance before failing it.

Wait...we have digital, that may be why we had the marathon and you only had one episode. Seems like analog may be a good thing after all!

Hi Chandra,

I've never heard of the term beatboxing before ^^;. It all sounds like rap to me, but I guess compared to the good raps I've heard, it is different o~O!

I was looking for the marathon that supposedly aired on Monday, but I couldn't find it on the local schedule. Did you see any cameos by the original cast? That's what I'm really interested in seeing (i.e. J. Arthur Crank, Fargo North, Jennifer of the Jungle, etc.)!

The only cameo I can recall was Tiki Barber, who was never on the original series.
