Ohh congratulations! I hope you have a lot of fun! I don't have any suggestions, just a warning: The food is expensive! It's outstanding though, my goodness the French can cook.

Well, when I was over in France we were in a ski resort so of course you're a captive audience there, the prices might be higher than in regular France. However, because the dollar is so weak against the Euro, things can look less expensive than they are. We had to pay something like 10 euros for lunch.. which ends up being close to $20!!

That will be so much fun, I bet! I've never felt a desire to go there, despite the fact I have a little French heritage, but I imagine it will make for great photography! Just go, take it in, make it whatever you want it to be. And, meh, for only 3-4 days, no worries learning French, I say! ;@ )

Congratulations. Unfortunately, I've only been to the Bahamas and Aruba, so no advice of French stuff. You may want to check out Lonely Planet or ricksteves.com; I like listening to the latter's travel radio show on the weekend.

Friends of mine have been, but I haven't, yet!

Definitely do all of the touristy things: go up in the Eiffel Tower, visit the Louvre... oh, and can you get Frommer's guides down there? There are some excellent books on Paris, on what to see and do and where to eat.
