Loring Park looked like quite the nice show! I think that the closest we'd have to get around here is holding a fair at GBBG or Olbrich......[oh wait, Olbrich does have an art fair....] Same with Powderhorn. Quite a few familar names at both! Gee, maybe I should come over there next time these fairs roll around....

Nice to see you enjoyed TPT too.......Someday, I'd love to see WPT's studios. Too bad I can't just hobble across the street from the Chazen and check 'em out.......yet....

Hi Chief,

Yes, you should definitely try out the 3 big art fairs here 8D! The crazy thing is that they're all on the SAME weekend, but Target sponsors a shuttle that will take you to either of the other 2 every 20 minutes or so. Uptown, the biggest of the 3, has artists from all around the world attend! It was fun! I'm going to try and go to all 3 next year!

Doesn't WPT have open public tours every once in awhile? I know TPT has open houses about 2-3 times per year with studio tours.

WPT has no public tours----you have to call ahead.

Hi Chief,

That bites XP! How do they expect people to donate to them if they don't give public tours every once in awhile?! It's PUBLIC television after all!

For TPT's open houses, you do have to watch for dates when they announce them during program broadcasts. I think that's the only place they announce them to non-members besides the website.

That is just so cool that you met Mr. McFeely (what is the actor's real name? I'm not sure I even know...). What sorts of things did he have to say about working with Mister Rogers? Or did he get much chance to talk about that stuff? How cool, just the same, it'd be basically the next-best-thing to ever getting to meet Fred himself!

I'm especially surprised, given your MNDOrk woes, that so many people were out and about! I guess one has to do what they can, as best they can.

Still, how fun. I don't think we have official "art fair" events here, at least nothing like that.

Hi THE Jill,

Mr. McFeely's real name is David Newell. No one asked about Mr. Rogers himself when I was still in line, but I suspect someone did later after I left.

Yeah, I was surprised I could get anywhere that first weekend after the incident o-O! I avoided the major detour routes though.

I'm sure WA has art fairs around. You just have to look for them ;)!

Of course, there are art fairs in WA! Not very many, especially not well-known ones, but still! I believe I've actually heard of the Edmonds show, myself....

/Art Fair SourceBook rocks.....
