Yet it was most obvious in Arcadia, where the silence was like feeling your chest but not hearing a heartbeat, the stillness too still to be real.
Perhaps that was why it didn't work out so well, even before Ryan started charging. The leaves rustled, the branches creaked, but the lack of breeze made it nothing more than an overgrown greenhouse.
