Sometimes... my brain is like a popcorn popper....

I realize my major problem with doing a podcast. I "thought jump" a lot.

It's not a new problem. My dad and I have done it ever since I could remember. Drives my mother crazy, but we can follow each other right as rain. Most of my friends know me really well so they can do the leaps with me, but people who don't know me (or understand my frames of ( Read more... )

this is what I said:

"I know what you mean. I have that same kind of thought when it comes to color.
I think the only way to define color is to attach it to an object that has the same color. But we can't really say what the color is. I know I'm not the only one to ever think this but. what if my blue is your orange and vice versa. I wanna see the color you see and I wanna share and compare my colors. I just like to think that. Grass is green but my green is your white. And my sun shines like your cloudy day ... Oh my brain!

BTW I was listening to 'Like Spinning Plates' while reading this and it fit. I had to say."

I haven't had any trouble following your podcasts ... but then, I'm also one of those people who tends to jump around, just as you describe.

You were also spot on about the reasons why *I* hate to debate people. I so hate talking to a wall.

"Show, don't tell" is the mantra I've been hearing since the moment I first began writing seriously. And you're right, it's a lot harder than it might seem to a non-writer -- but when it works, it's awesome.
