Naruto - Episode 84

... since I'm covering 20+ episodes from my last watching, clearly I am going to be skipping things.

I would like to say that the Third Hokage vs Orochimaru thing went on way too long. Especially the bit where they just stood there for at least three episodes. Still, the nifty flashbacks showing how all these people looked when they were younger

That's one thing about anime that bugs me is the flashback management. This series tends to repeat the last action over and over again while the inner monologue is going on. Hence, Sakura getting punched in the head like thirty times during the Forest of Death scene. Manga is like cliffnotes candy

Seriously. The flashbacks. x_x I mean, why are those always in the middle of a fight scene anyway? And while I like having different characters thoughts n' stuff, it bogs the story down way much.

I did like the way Naruto burrowed underground though. It reminded me of Kakashi and the bell-test. Only, yanno, Naruto dug his way there with his bare hands instead. *cough*

Shikamaru is now made of WIN. Brains over brawn yanno?

Well, I have to work on my essay now, so I kinda have to stop otherwise I'm going to be watching Naruto episodes all afternoon. So Yeah, I had to stop during the Ichiha mess.

I'm still not that big on Gaara. I normally love the redheads, but nothing about Gaara is sticking besides a vague sense of annoyance.
