re: games and fics

Generally, not a fan of this pairing (and rarely read fan fiction as it is) but found this link through ghostdrive, who I trust to always pimp out interesting and unique links. And any fic that has this line, "Once I punched a dolphin, three vending machines, and some random guy in a chocobo suit all in the same day." is pure genius in my book.

Borderlands is fun, but the controls drove me crazy. (Half the time I would go to melee I would end up crouching.) Dragon Age was LOTS of fun, I ended up playing that for a few hours last night/today before I finally realized I needed to stop hogging the computer. I'd definitely rec Dragon Age over Borderlands.

L4D2 is a way different kind of game, though, in my opinion. I never play single player and as such rely on the multiplayer aspects to entertain me.

I'd second Dragon Age. I'm having a great time with it. It's really amusing playing as an elven mage. People look down on you for being an elf, are terrified of you for being a mage, but respect you for being a grey warden. Also, since elves are generally either slave labor, I get to play the race card all the time.

The writers did an excellent job with the banter. BioWare is pretty well known for this already, but so far, it looks like they've gone above and beyond.

I came across that fanfic in a thread at Fandom Secrets, of all places. XD Man, that comm leads me to some random, but mostly awesome stuff.
