The little trip went well

We took tours of three old plantation houses. The first one was Belle Meade (which in French means beautiful meadow), it was owned by John Harding and he started the first really famous thoroughbred racehorse farm. One of the first great horses he raised was Iroquois whose bloodline produced Seabiscuit and Secretariat among others. ( Read more... )

Ty for sharing. I really love these old mansions/houses in the US. Too bad you couldn't take pics inside. Would have loved to see :)

Thank you for sharing! When you mentioned plantation, I'm reminded of Gone With The Wind.
When I was in the US, I thought of visiting Savannah but didn't. Your post has substituted the feel I missed out on (that's if I got my geography and culture right).
