I loved Bones SO MUCH (the things he does for his best friend. XD And the kind of shit he has to put up with because KIRK is his best friend. XD XD XD XD XD XD) and Chekov kind of made me giggle like an idiot.
Poor Bones, he was so much the reluctant older brother type. And there were so many MANY moments where I could just picture him looking at Jim and thinking, 'why the hell am I doing this for you again, you moron?' That whole vaccine sequence cracked me up completely.
Chekov is such an adorable puppy. I was already sort of in love with him when he couldn't speak his voice ID code, but I totally fell for him when he was rushing to the transporter room to try and get Kirk and Sulu on board. XD
YEEEEEEES! Like, he tried to walk away and then he's all "...........oh fuck this shit, I can't even handle the idea of his stupid dejected face." and turns back around. WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN.
Yes! That was SO FUNNY and ohsodamnCUTE. The crazy antics with the transporter = WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN.
I hadn't even thought of Bones/Chekov while watching the movie... I was waaaay to distracted by looking for Kirk/Spock hints. This was brilliant though. Absolutely brilliant. This is one of my new favorite pairings now!!! As for the G.I. Joe movie, I cracked up after the trailer. It was the funniest thing I had seen in a while. It was soo weird... I just didn't know how to react.
I could definitely see the Kirk/Spock hints. :D But, my mind goes weird places and Chekov was just too adorable to resist. And Bones's grumbly, surly exterior makes me squee like a mad thing. ^_^;;
Uh. As a major, hard-core Trekkie, I find the, uh, pairing of Bones/Chekov mildly disturbing. About as disturbing as the Spock/Urhura pairing in the movie. However, I grew up watching Star Trek the original, so this is probably a reaction of watching all the characters I knew and loved twisted into something completely different. I must now get up the courage to read your fic now.
'Kay, did it, that was easy, uh, yeah, still a little weird though. Yeah. Just wait a few weeks, I'll get over it.(Dammit, now I'm going to go back and watch all the old Star Treks for hints of McCoy/Chekov now just like I did when I first heard of the Spock/Kirk pairing. WHICH IS TOTALLY SUPPORTED BY THE ORIGINAL OMG YOU HAVE NO IDEA.)
I got here from a rec from someone else I didn't know but THANK GOD they did rec it - I LOVE this idea for a ship!! Chekov is so precious, I might 'ship him with a toaster at this point, though.
