Nano filter: The King's Pride

La! Posting all the madness of what I worked on in Nov because I finally was inspired to do a little typing on this today.

It's disjointed and rambly and a little bit of all over the place, but I can't help it, the universe is fun to think about. ^_^;;

I'll post all the random drabbles I have for this universe next.

I could go on and on about this story. I would love to know how this tradition started and why. I don't know who I pity more: George or Harry. Tobias is so adorable it hurts, but Asher is going to be my absolute favorite character. I can tell. I was ready to drop kick Caleb off a cliff until I realized he went and yelled at someone on Tobias's behalf.

I cannot wait to see the character development for the other members of the Pride. This promises to be awesome.

There were explainations in my head for how it started and why it continues. Each House rules from the point that they select their ruler until their ruler dies and the next House assumes the position of appointing a ruler. The Prides orginated as a means of keeping the classes in closer connection and enabling men of power to surround themselves with knowledge, resoureful men who were bound to them in loyalty that went deeper than an oath. (Or so it went in my head...^_^;;) Prides have devolved since their conception, but that was the main purpose behind having them.

it's so good!! a wonderful thing, now that i actually have time to read it. i saw when you posted it last night and had to forcibly restrain myself from reading it...since that wouldn't have been conducive to finishing my finals. but i'm done now, so i have plenty of time for yummy harem-type stories!! X3

love them all, and i can't wait to see more of their personalities. have a feeling i'm going to be a fan of thatcher, though. possibly caleb, if he ever gets off his high horse.

they really do need to do something about the decor in the pride rooms, though. honestly? pink? you're a cruel mistress, my dear. ;)

Heehee! I love Thatcher. He's not terribly developed in this (or in anything I've put him in yet. *sweatdrops*), but he's mute. His nervous hand gestures are sign language. Samuel understands what he's signing to a certain extent because he's used similar signing with allies when attempting espionage and breaking and entering or whatever else mischeif his House put him up to before he became a Pride member.

*snickers* I hate the color, so it seemed natural that the least favorable color would be something like that, particularly if it was a room housing six men. ^_^

is it okay that i didn't pick up on thatcher being mute? cause i didn't. i figured he was just scared silly by all the crazies. but it could totally just be me being blonde [which is a fairly common occurance ^^;;]. well, now i love him even more! and he trains horses! O.O so coooooooooool.

seriously, like i said, you're a cruel mistress. the fact that harry was kind of fond of the rooms makes me snicker. his reaction to samuel tearing it up...ah. good stuff. ^________________^

Totally okay. ;3 It's not obvious. And I've got like three or four scenes floating around in my head for this 'verse, and a scene highlighting Thatcher's muteness is among them.

XD Well, he's that too. He's used to being surrounded by horses and livestock all day. Being around other people, not to mention crazy people, is a bit much for him. ^_^

Harry's one of those guys who likes to have everything in order and is fussy about things. He's not like that as a kid, but I think Shane seriosuly rubbed off on him at an impressionable age. ;3

MORE!!! There must be more! *whines* I could read this all day. You are writing everyone so well. I can totally see where George's thought process is coming from so I'm not wanting to yell at him for being a dummy (though it was supremely satisfying to see Harry do it). Harry did such a great job choosing the Pride, I can tell already. Now for George to figure that out.

I wonder if this will really be a... 7-way (see how I am taking the eventual Harry/George as a given^_^), or if there will be pairings with in the Pride. I can't wait to find out!! Off to read the next bits!

*twirls you about* I'm waiting for things to cool down a little RL-wise so that I have more time to come back and play in this 'verse. It would be like my regular WIPs, except there are so many characters to play with and different ways to go (and I don't seem to terribly care about writing in sequence when it comes to any of this...>_>;;) that I don't think it'll be hard at all to write more. Heehee. ^_^
