Closed; Valentines Day

Feb 14, 2014 00:47

This was going to be the first Valentine's Day that Skylar wasn't spending with Reid, dressing up for some silly Singles Mingle or Traffic Light parties, shooting back brightly colored, themed shots and fending off less than appealing, socially awkward guys that thought they actually had a chance with one of them before heading home and diving into ( Read more... )

This street certainly wasn't random. Not by a long shot.

Of course, Skylar didn't know this. At least, not yet. His gloved hand dug into his jacket, reaching into the secret pocket flush with the lining and pulled out a small, red enveloped card. He had tried to think of a way to do this that was sort of exciting- sort of, well, romantic.

But he didn't want to scare her away.

"We're actually here-" he said, his tone sheepish as he held out the card to her.

It was a small heart, glitter on the front with the words 'I love you' emblazoned on the front. It was simple, nothing fancy and written on the inside, in his still embarrassingly chicken scratch handwriting was 12 Grimmauld Place.

"I um- you should probably read this first-" he grinned.

Harry had been quiet all night but not in his usual way, a little bit nervous maybe and she could see the corners of his lips tug upward into a smile as they walked in comfortable silence. He hadn't even given her a single hint as to what he had planned for the night and it had Skylar's mind racing with possibilities.

"Oh- okay," she grinned, voice quiet as she took the little cut out card, her heart swelling before even reading it.

Actually, it didn't even matter what it said. She was here, spending Valentines Day (which was a stupid holiday, but still) with Harry Potter, who was handing her a card that read I love you and-

12 Grimmauld Place.

12 Grimmuald Place?

Skylar read the words over a few times before looking up at Harry, an even more baffled look on her face. Those words meant literally nothing to her.

Though, something caught her eye when she looked back up and she turned away from Harry, facing a house that definitely had not been there a moment ago.

"Was that always there? No- right?"

From the moment he handed her the card, his eyes had been fixated on her fingers, waiting for her to read the words scribbled across the page. He was nearly switching back and forth his glances from the street to her face, trying to gauge her reaction to this whole thing. He felt a little childish in his excitement but he couldn't help it.

Hell, he'd even gotten Reid on board.

He had a good feeling about this.

"No-" he told her, all but grinning now. "That's because it's a bit of a special place-"

He grabbed for her hand, leading her across the street and toward the place he had briefly used to save his life.

Skylar laced their fingers together as they crossed the street, taking in the sight of this seemingly ordinary house that had just appeared before them. She shouldn't have been so surprised, not really. They came from a world of magic; objects disappeared and reappeared all the time.

But normally those objects weren't so large-

And it certainly didn't look particularly romantic, if that's the feel he was going for tonight.

"Alright-" she grinned, taking his word for it. If there was something she had learned by now it was this: trust Harry Potter.

"What's so special about it?"
