So, good news, farrier came out and was a lot less concerned about Enrique's rotating feet than I was :P He shifted the angles of the feet a bit, and thinks that should help get things back on track. You've certainly got your work cut out for you with your busy schedule!!!
But I agree with you about the months your regular trainer is gone. Sounds like it will be good to work on equitation -- and longe lessons, and when your position is stronger, you'll be amazed that some of the issues you had in Enriques training before might not be as hard to fix because your position is better. Riding correctly (straight, balanced, etc.) usually produces a straighter, more correct moving horse.

And yes, I agree totally. I know for a fact that he's really sensitive to my position; if I am hunching, he gets heavy on the forehand, so I wouldn't be surprised if I influence him negatively in other ways

I recommend the Edmonton Gold Rush show, however any show at Amberlea is usually good. The Gold Rush show just usually has good prizes and is really well ran. I've scribed at it in the past.
So, if you are willing to travel I recommend that one and then I could come watch :) Exactly what you need, haha.
I'm glad to see you are doing well! It's been forever since I've had time to come on LJ.
