LOL! Noooo, it was more: "Look! We are cool! We have FOUR films in the Festival of Venice this year!!!!!!!!! And there will be there three Swedish actors: Stellan Skarsgård, Rolf Lassgård and Pernilla August!!! WE ARE COOL!!! WOW!!!" XD
So no Alex in Venice in the end. It's a pity. Well, I adore Stellan, he is an amazing actor but I agree that Alex would be quite a better sigh, LOL. Keep on searching, who knows, maybe Alex will show up at the last moment.

Where do you live? I was in Venice this summer, so beautiful. And spent a weekend in Milan 'on the way', which I also loved.

I live in the province of Gorizia :) (look, here is the map I did to show one of my travel, but you could see where I live, so if you are back in the zone... ;P)
It's one and half from Venice, and the same from Ljubljana, five and half from Vienna, four from Monaco and four from Milan :)
It's a nice part of Italy even if... we felt more our history with Austria than with Italy ^^;
Do you know that I never been in Milan °_° with Turin is the only big city in the North that I never seen :(
