Thinking of moving the dolls to a Blogger

So, I'll probably always have a livejournal. Sometimes I just feel like talking and talking and talking and I know that no one really wants to hear what I say, and i don't really need any input. I just need to put my thoughts somewhere so they'll get out of my head. But, I'm thinking about moving the doll specific stuff to a blogger. I know of two ( Read more... )

Hope it works out. I really enjoyed the piece you did with Alice in Wonderland. It was beautiful storytelling and really interesting.

You could try dA, too, unless you want that just for cosplay and stuff. I've seen quite a few lovely doll alterations on that site and dolls in general. I usually think of you when I see them.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! I think it's my best photo set so far, on Den of Angels I've gotten lots of comments. I can't just rely on Den of Angels for doll stuff because only members can view it (which is why I copied the whole thing over here) but then I didn't want to share the post from here because I've got a lot of other personal thoughts.

I've seen Dolls on DA too, but you're right, I am using my dA as an online portfolio for arts and crafts that aren't dolls.

Have you used Blogger or do you follow any blogs on there?

Not Blogger, but I did follow three people who used Blogspot. I'm not sure if it's the same thing. One is Bent Objects, Hyperbole and a Half, and Bannable Offenses.Hyperbole and a Half is probably the best one, content-wise, to show you what the site can do (plus it's hilarious).

I don't know a lot about blogging sites. I know someone who has used Wordpress for stories since those stories max out LJ text limit and posting it in parts is ridic. I know half the people who were at LJ in the good ol' days have mostly moved to dreamwidth. That's about it. Sorry I can't be more help.

Hm, my first instinct was to say that Blogger and Blogspot are different - but know I think they are the same thing. To get to the Blog, I click a google button called "Blogger" but my blog's web address is skyealloway.blogspot.com I have the book Bent Objects, its fantastic. I'll check those others too for ideas.

I think I technically have a blogger (or blogspot, not sure which now) account, but I haven't done much with it, although you're right. There are some nice blog accounts that seem really great that I'm just not paying attention to because I'm not really going on there. I should really take a closer look at it. Like you, I'll probably always have a LiveJournal account, but so many people have left LiveJournal that it seems like it makes sense to find other places to post, even if we keep our accounts here. Kind of sad, but there it is.

LiveJournal definitely feels isolated. Since I have a few doll hobby friends on here, I'll try to link my new Doll Blog posts here too. Share your blogspot/blogger thing if you decide to take it up again!
