The rumours were that Kiriyan would be doing Pimpernel, right? I can't believe they were actually true. O_O Honestly I don't know what to think about it right now...

And a Hana show... but it's hard to get excited when I don't know what it is. XD;
Edit: Oh, it's a remake. Big surprise. :P

It's "Gujijin." Hanagumi did it in 1951 (with Kasugano Yachiyo, current member of senka) and 1974 (with Ootori Ran). Previous performances have included lives horses on stage.

Exactly. It doesn't seem right to have anyone other than Touko/Asuka in those roles. =/ Can't comment too much on Chauvelin, but I think I feel a bit bad for her, having to follow up after Chie.

So evidently they're trying hit all major Asian countries within the span of Yuu-kun's top stardom. And pretty is good... though it seems to be all we've been doing recently. Hopefully this one will have a good plot. :P

I was ... actually hoping against Pimpernel. -_-;;

Partly because, seriously, even I'm getting sick of the rehashing lately, and partly because I think it's a bad fit for Kiriyan. And now the Hoshi production will be towering over their orihime, and ... *shrug*

Upshot, it's a great first top role for Marimo. :D It's very promising for what her career will be like if they're letting her play a grown-up from the get-go -- and her character's certainly more of a fit than Kiriyan's.

*nods* I'm tired of remakes. I mean, I can understand Gubijin, since it was done 30 years ago, but why is there a need to do Taiou or Pimpernel within a year of the first? D: All it's going to do is create a competition between the two versions (and I have to admit, I'm still a bit bitter that Hoshi did TS2 :P). Especially when the original was so great. ...We'll just have to wait and see.

I don't really know Marimo, but I agree that it's definitely a good start, albeit rather intimidating. But yay for no overly cutesy role! XD

Yeah. It's one thing to be all "Er, make sure you get the that 'Ernest in Love'" or "Trust me, you want her as Christine" five years after the fact, but it must suck for the actual siennes being asked to follow up on each other's acts like that.

TS2 ... yeah. It was their own stupid fault the first time around, and making Hanagumi pay for that is just bad form.

Marimo is like the only one of the new musumeyaku that I do know, even a little bit. I'm hoping she'll also get to skip the cloying roles as much as possible. So far, so good for irrational optimism. XD

Argh, Tsukigumi Pimpernel is frustrating. I mean, it's a nice show, but it's just too soon. And it's a good musumeyaku role and all, but Marimo's already done it once ^^;;

And I know nothing about this Hanagumi show, but I hope for your sake it turns out lovely and has good roles for everyone!

Anyway, from what I've seen (I'll have to scan this photo I have), it definitely looks like it will be pretty. :D Still can't comment on the plot though. :P Live horses would be epic. Costumes would be not so much. Maybe they'll just have the giant head like in Oguri. XDD
