I could sort of see Rika as Scarlett, but as Melanie? Definitely bizarre. At least she's avoiding being typecast...

Yeah, same here. Especially since Scarlett has been played by otokoyaku in the past. It'd definitely be interesting to see how she does in the role though.

Sometimes I think Toho just draws lots to see who gets roles. ^_^; The Les Miz cast list looked similarly random.
