decided to see what would happen if we plugged our TV into the cable line from the wall.
The signal can't tell the difference between what wire it is being connected to, and all the wires basically pump the same information, so ya, you get a bunch of channels. This is why everyone on a budget should go for cable internet, and then just leech the cable out of the same system.

Heh, we actually plugged our cable line in BEFORE the FIOS was installed. So the internet is being served to us via Verizon, and the cable is coming from Comcast (who could only ever get me as a "customer" again by giving it to me for free). We are thinking it is either a hold over from the three months *cough*hockeyseason*cough* that we had cable during 2008, or from the previous tenants. *shrug* Either way, we aren't going to complain!
