I suggest looking through actually plays with female character that you like. I really find picking a monologue that was written just as a monologue (as opposed to part of a play) is usually weaker. Maybe that's why you haven't found one you like yet.

While it's VERY overdone, check out some Janice Martin plays -- for example, Talking With. It's a play comprised of just monologues, most by females. They do require some work in trimming them down though.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been thinking about what I've read/seen lately that I could use, but I haven't been able to come up with much. (I even thought about things from TV, but I didn't think they would translate well.) Angels in America is probably a bit overdone, but I considered it.

I feel like you could probably do a classical piece. I know you have read those in Arthur and Ryan's classes.
