I agree with the Tone Riko comment! I feel like something is going to happen between her and Aoshi! But I find her character a bit over the top! I know she really wants a story but does she need to be so pushy? HOPEFULLY SHE WILL GROW ON ME!
It's disappointing about the ratings though! Especially when I think this drama is really good from an objective perspective in terms of the laughs and the relatable storyline! Hopefully things will turn around soon! :/
I REALLY hope that there will be nothing between her and Aoshi XD No... Aoshi isn't a character who's interested in love I think. Somehow that would ruin a lot for me, I don't know haha. I don't really feel any wibes between those two btw... or am I ignorant in that aspect? Haha =D
Yes, the dorama really isn't bad, I agree! I really enjoy it, it's entertaining and the characters are great and it's a sports dorama different from usual sports doramas. It's also not overly emotional (like sports doramas sometimes tend to be XD) I really like the subtle emotions and the sublte humor of this dorama. I really hope that the ratings will get better again! Nino and the others deserve good ratings! And I want a long dorama XD There was much too less Nino lately anyways on screens XD
I AGREE COMPLETELY!!!!!!! I love how its so straight forward, like in the first episode, instead of it taking 5 episodes for Akaiwa to warm up to Aoshi or the other members for that matter, they all really warmed up to him so quickly!
I want to compare this drama with Rookies. Yes, I have to. Because I watched Rookies and I loved it. But, the truth is I like Yowakate more. It's more realistic and has some scenes that I haven't seen before in almost youth drama. Studying. Really studying :D. About this episode. I still enjoyed this one. I really want to know how they play baseball by using Aoshi's strategy. Can't wait for the next episode:)
I have to admit, I didn't see Rookies yet so I can't compare those two doramas. There aren't thaaat much sport-related doramas I watched yet but I think Yowakate isn't that bad. The storyline isn't the best but the idea behind it is nice and I think we really have a nice cast. I also like that it's quite realistic but lately I fear that some people might find that boring (and that this might be the reason for the dropping ratings maybe). Nevertheless I personally enjoy the dorama and I'm curious what's coming up next. Surprise me, Aoshi XD
Yeah, maybe that's the reason for the dropping ratings.. Hope from the fifth episode the tempo will be more fast.
I have watched all Nino's drama.. Almost of them are human drama. about family. So, watch him in Yowakate, sport drama, is quite fresh. I agree with you, maybe it's not the best drama from him, but it's enjoyable.
I'm sooo happy, ratings for Ep 5 increased again to 11,9%! (Second best episode regarding ratings yet! ^^) I wonder what was wrong in the week with the 4th episode XD I think the tempo for the 5th episode isn't bad. The beginning is a bit long but then it's getting really exciting I think =)
I agree with you! I myself didn't watch all of his doramas yet but I guess most of them and this time it's really something else. I have to say I prefer Nino in more serious doramas with more depth though... but Yowakate is really nice as well, I enjoy it and I really like Aoshi-sensei. But I want to know more about him =P
I'm hoping the pace will finally fasten up now that they have a strategy!A gamble of course XD
The ratings are disappointing but...the idea behind the drama, even if a bit clichè,isn't bad but the way they decided to go with is i think. The first ep was too fast and from there too slow. And i'm not too fond of the acting of some. But the thing the will keep on irritating me is that band music,i facepalm every time i hear it.
Yes, it's a gamble XD Haha Let's see what the future holds, ne? I sense some pretty dramatic disasters coming up before we actually can see them improving but yeah, I hope their strategy will succeed in the end somehow >.<
I agree with you, the first ep was pretty fast and since then we only have small progress (if we can call that even progress). There are a lot of scenes that I enjoy because of the cast and the characters but regarding the story they could have shortened this to a Movie I think o_O
Btw I know what you mean about that band music XD I'm not fond of the soundtrack in general, most of the time I find it pretty annoying o_O (I only love the ending song of course XD).
Well, unfortunately I have to admit that this is definitely not Nino's best dorama but nevertheless it's enjoyable ^^ let's wait and see. I just hope that the bad ratings don't affect the members of the cast in the future (I want to see some of them acting more!!! Nino of course but also some of the others!)
I don't know how the book is but from the way they went with the drama it may have been better to go as a movie,at least they had to progress in a shorter time lol
Yes that's true but somehow I'm still happy to see Nino week after week again XD As I already complained - there was too little acting Nino lately! He did NOTHING in 2013 acting wise (I don't count Platina Data because they shot it in 2012 =P) so I'm really happy to see he didn't stop xD
My favorite scene from this ep was when the students were complaining about Aoshi being an Aooni. LOL. Everyone was so rowdy. XD
I have to admit, I don't really understand the merits of Jotoku's strategy just yet, but maybe the match vs. Takemiya will help me understand a bit more. I wonder what Akaiwa's dad is planning, with his evil laugh and all.
I'm glad Tone-san is getting some character development in this episode, aside from the pushy journalist shtick she's been doing. Sometimes I wonder why Aoshi-sensei doesn't just ban her from school grounds or get a restraining order or something, because I feel like she's overstepping boundaries at times. >.
YES! Aooni xD I laughed so hard, that's really a great scene! How they freak out was so funny! Poor Aoshi xD
Hm about the strategy, I guess it's basically just to focus on what the can improve the most - means batting and getting points with that - so that if the other team scores high, they can score even higher. I think the strategy could be called "Attack over defense" as well to shorten it. I'm curious if it will work because everone would have to become a batting-professional if they really want to make that to their strong point o_O I'm curiioius if this will work XD
And yeah, Akaiwa's dad, I don't have any idea but I hope it will be something funny XD
It's true that Tone has some character development in this episode but nevertheless I think she's too persistant. I'm not sure if her development is for my liking or disliking yet XD I think the reson why Aoshi doesn't send her from the school grounds is that he doesn't mind about her at all XD
Ahhh YOU WERE RIGHT :D This episode got me interested again, I hope the ratings pick up after this!
I think the strategy is really interesting. I also appreciated the glimpses we got of Akaiwa's life/psyche (aww this proud, insensitive, clueless kid; I actually teared up when he looked so happy about Yuzuko's mom saying he was normal haha) and the mindset of the elite (like in Aoshi's convo with Riko). Idk, overall the episode felt refreshing. I'm excited to see what happens next.
Ne, ne? This episode was really interesting, right? ^^ I really liked it and I like the strategy! But I think they really have to work hard XD It's not like all of them are natural talents like Shirao XD haha. And I love the 5th episode even more! =D
